Big Wig Festival Wrap Up

It's a beautiful thing to see Singapore come out in numbers to induldge in some good ol' Hiphop & Soul Music at the 2013 Big Wig Festival.  I had the pleasure of hosting the festival introducing artists from US to the UK and everything in between.  The rain gave the day a slow start, but allowed me sometime to talk and connect with many of the visiting artists backstage.  I like when someone introduces your music and artistry with a personal touch.  I had a wonderful time rocking my own set, then getting the rainbow fro wearing crowd hyped up to see artists like Lady Leshurr, The Cuban Brothers, Akil the MC & Hydrophonics, Pharoahe Monch (and his amazing band) and of course Bizarre ride to the Pharcyde show ft. Fat Lip and Slim Kid Tre.

Lady Leshurr and I trading swag.  We need more unity between women in Hiphop and the music business.  Listening to this lady's talent gives me hope that the future looks bright for the new fore runners that will show skill and creativity over T&A.  LYEAH!!!  

DJ Theory of San Francisco my personal favorite DJ of the festival for unapologetically running a true dancehall set.  I dare say that he is the first person to play Gully God tunes (Movado) in a public space in Singapore.  For a nation where dancehall is equivalent of only Sean Paul, Mr. Theory I tip my hat to you.

The Cuban Brothers...showed the crowd a whole lot of his cuban, brother.  What a fantastic show full of energy and bringing back the vibe of Hiphop that is driven by showmanship, humour and skill.

Could I have a goofier smile?  I can't help it standing next to one of Hiphop's musical icons Fat Lip.  I learned to breakdance to The Bizarre Ride to the Pharcyde so you can imagine my thrill to be able to introduce these legendary Hiphop artists to the stage.

It's official! I'll be hosting the first BIG WIG MUSIC FESTIVAL.  Finally a festival for the HIPHOP & SOUL heads in Singapore along side the incredibly talented British MC Lady Leshurr. (Seriously check her out, she dope dope dope!) Respects to Big Wig for having 2 Ladies of Hiphop hold down in a time when Hiphop is seriously lacking in strong female representation.

It will be with my greatest pleasure to introduce indisputable lyrically gifted Pharoahe Monch, along with a line up of Hiphop legends like The Pharcyde, Four Dub (Akil the MC of Jurassic 5, Hydro Phonics & Tech 12), the hilarious Cuban Brothers and local heros DJ Ko Flow, Wicked Aura and Kevin Lester.  Adding to the positive vibes is my favorite crew in the Lion City, Pushin' On Crew alongside Deejay Theory & Captain Planet.  

Skate heads there will be a purpose-built Skateboard Ramp on the grounds together Radikal Forze B-Boy Crew & Live Graffiti Art.

Bootleg Culture Album Release NYC!

The Bootleg Culture Album Release Oct 18. 2012 at Happy Ending Lounge, NYC was an amazing success!  Thank you so much to everyone that came through to support the project and bringing great vibes all night.  This was a truly international affair with people representing from Canada, Singapore, Japan, Finland, Sweden and of course NYC.
