After her set in Fryshuset, Stockholm Masia sat down with Kingsize magazine's Nicholas Farmer to talk about working on a new album with Swedish producers Musicano as well as her story from falling in love with Hiphop to working in various roles as an artist.

Spring in Berlin and we're shooting a video for NYC based producer Sir Giant's remix of "Make Up". Director Stini (Also singer for Kinky White Horse) Producer / Camera Woman: Alma - and of course a 1972 Lime Green Classic Mercedes Benz, a power plant, truck stops, my little pony hair and no speed limit on the Auto Bahn. Amazing guest appearances from Hanna Herbertson & Isis Salam.  Good times.

While in New York I had the wonderful opportunity to do work with photographer Meshaka Robinson and Swedish stylist Karolina Brock of Brock's Blog.  With the "Makeup" theme of the shoot we had to pull in a great make up artist. NYC designer and homegirl Butch Diva's recommendation Joel Angel came on board.

I want to really thank the Museum of Chinese in America for being so supportive of my artistic pursuits in New York City and for providing a beautiful location for this shoot.  If you haven't visited the museum it is an amazing space documenting the rich cultural histories of Chinese in America and the center remains highly active in its surrounding community.  

Thanks to the whole crew and my management SweJam for putting this shoot together.  It has inspired new looks and creative ideas going 2013 and beyond.

Working with stylist Karolina Brock was amazing.  What a professional and pulled amazing pieces for the shoot.

We had gone wig shopping the day before to find the perfect shade of red for this look.  New York is officially a wig shopping capital.

A great photographer is not just someone who understands light, the camera and angles.  It is someone with a great vibe that makes you feel comfortable when shots are being taken.  Meshaka thanks for the great vibe and making brilliance look so casual.  I

Internationally Acclaimed and Multi-Talented Artist Masia One Releases New Video

Masia One releases the video to her 2013 VIMA Award nominated single “Make Up”

New York, NY – Last month, internationally acclaimed artist Masia One released the 2013 VIMA award nominated single “Make Up” featuring Isis Salam and Black Molly in North America. Now Masia One presents the global video debut for the pop/dance track.

The playful video for “Make Up” shows Masia One and Graph Gonzales aka Black Molly having fun with different hairstyles, clothes and, of course, makeup. Produced by Che Vicious, Grammy Award winning producer and A&R for Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music, the song is an up-tempo, feel good, pop/dance track that showcases yet another side to Masia’s arsenal of talent and musical diversity.

“If this song doesn’t make you feel sexy then you're listening wrong”, said Isis Salam. On working with Masia One on the song and video, Graph Gonzales aka Black Molly commented, “Fun track. I love Masia's call to bring the ‘Nia Long Love Jones’ back in the zone.”
